Corona City Council will discuss the 1957 58 budget at 7 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers. The proposed $862000 budget is 11 percent higher than last year and may face reductions. Mayor City Manager Ralph Pfiffner labeled it well balanced and the tax rate would be $1.40 with final action possible this evening.
The Corona council of the League of United Latin American Citizens will receive its charter in a 7 p.m. ceremony at St. Edward's Hall with installation of officers led by regional governor Joe O Campo. Delegates Anselmo Mejia and Dr James Merrihew will attend as speakers and guests include Placentia Mayor Raymond Pound. Destination for the national convention is Disneyland from June 27 to 30.
