Stork Shower Honors Mrs. J. O. Snyder at Hastings Home

Mrs. E. B. Hastings hosted a Monday evening stork shower at her Vicentia Street home honoring Mrs. J. O. Snyder. Prizes went to Mrs. R. B. Lamb and Mrs. W. B. Hughes. Refreshments were served and Mrs. Snyder received a bathinet te from guests. Attendees included Miss Marguerite Fisher, Riverside residents Major Snyder, Lois Alexander, W. H. Hughes, and several others.

Past Matrons and Past Patrons Meet at Fitch Home

The Past Matrons and Past Patrons club gathered Monday night at Mr. and Mrs. C. Fitch’s garden for dinner at a long flowered table. Thirty five members attended and played games followed by singing. No meetings will be held until September. Mrs. Susie Huckins presided and led the business session.

Mr and Mrs Wayne Bohn of Burbank hosted by Mr and Mrs Orville Brooks and others at Balboa Beach. Mr and Mrs Eudell Miller and daughter Sylvia Ann visited Huntington Beach. Mr and Mrs C E Robinson spent Sunday with Mr and Mrs W S Robinson in Los Angeles. Mr and Mrs Laurence Dupuis of 1004 Washburn street are parents of a son born Sunday in the county hospital. Mrs Frank Burchfield and children returned from Corona del Mar. Mr and Mrs C A Steves moved today to their new ranch home on Smith street Route 2 Corona.

Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Starnes hosted Mr. and Mrs. Oscar White and daughter Eula and Mrs. L. H. Harvey of Akron Ohio. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Will White of Riverside. The visitors praised Corona and planned to continue to Yosemite and the San Francisco Fair. A Sunday picnic at Long Beach honored the Ohio guests with many Riverside and Corona residents attending.

Carnival Jamaica opens Padua Hills Summer Festival

Carnival time in Old Mexico arrives in Southern California on June 21 with the Jamaica street fair at Padua Hills Theatre Clare mont. The English language production El Punto Ciego the blind spot by Frank Beckwith and Charles Dickinson plays with Jamaica festival al fresco and matinees Wednesdays and Saturdays through July 29.

Riverside and Orange County 4 H clubs gathered at Camp Radford for a multi day outing through Wednesday. Nuevo club members staged a play Anna Visits Camp Radford in the lodge. Leila Perry led community singing and Ross Crane showed motion pictures. A 4 H leaders council met Sunday with C L Lambright presiding as 23 leaders attended. Project books were discussed and several clubs reported all members had completed them.

Fidac Dinner Promises Colorful Program At Memorial Hall

Members of the Auxiliary to W H Jameson Jr Post 216 American Legion host the annual Fidac dinner at Memorial Hall from 6 30 to 8 30 tonight. After dining, attendees may view colored moving pictures of Czechoslovakia and hear talks by Valenta of Los Angeles and Adolph Whitney of China. Mrs Whitney will display Slavic articles. Men Arrested After Near Third Street Incident

Frank L. Coonrod was arrested by Officer Henriese and State Motorcycle Officer Baker for driving a car while intoxicated near Howard and Third streets. Joe Parks of Santa Ana was charged with drunkenness. Three bottles of wine were found in the car. Coonrod fined 250 dollars with 50 suspended. Parks fined 25 dollars. Coonrod sent to county road camp to serve time.
