Reckless Driver Cited After Magnola Avenue Crash

Oscar DeLong of Cypress was cited for reckless driving after his truck allegedly cut a car driven by C A Plumas on Magnola avenue near Corona. Plumas and 11-year-old Lyle Bledsoe were knocked to the ground. Plumas was treated at Corona hospital and later released.

About twenty five Coronans attend the Riverside county chamber of commerce outing at Idyllwild. Congressman Phil D. Swing will deliver an address at the Riverside county mountain resort banquet room of the Idyllwild Inn. Officers are to be elected in the 4 pm meeting in the inn lobby with Jonas E. Gas Rates Lowered for Corona by 10 Percent

After months of effort by the Corona community and its chambers of commerce industrial committee, the Southern California Gas Company announced a roughly ten percent rate reduction for domestic users. The move equalizes Corona rates with Riverside and Colton, aided by city officials and the state railway commission.

Pony Express Veteran to Deliver Invitation for California Pageant

E. E. Livingston, famed Pony Express rider known as the Powder River Kid, will ride to Mayor Herbert M. Key to deliver an official invitation from Ontario Mayor Francis P. Williams for The First Californians pageant at Chaffey Bowl next Thursday and Friday at eight in the evening. He will be accompanied by White Flower an Indian girl from the cast, and will don his old rider outfit for the occasion.

Defense seeks insanity evidence in Belle Farris murder trial

Riverside June 20 Defense attorney Joseph Seymour asks superior court to order depositions from Tennessee associates of the Farris family to probe insanity claims in the case of Corona housewife Belle Farris charged with the shooting death of her husband. The motion cites a letter from J M Yokley Baileytown postmaster alleging Will Farris was cruel and of low mentality. Depositions are sought from Yokley Bower and Carter.

Coroner Probing Fatal Accident On Canyon Road

An inquest in Fullerton, led by Coroner Charles D. Brown, examines the deaths of Fred Bastady and Hans Graff after Bastady’s car left the Santa Ana canyon highway near Sulphur Slide. Bastady, 60, and Graff, 42, died. Bastady’s 13 year old son, a passenger, survived unhurt. The trio were en route to Imperial Valley when speed and a curve led to the crash.

Injunction Denied in Mining Gage Case in Court

Riverside June 20. Superior Judge O K Morton denied Charles Goodale’s request for a temporary restraining order to stop H L Musick from removing machinery from mining land in Perris valley. Goodale sues over possession and title alleging a leased land with duties to work the mines. Musick contends he bought the property. About $60,000 involved. Kelley & Hews appear for Goodale.
