Knights of Pythias Hosts for Visitors in Valley Event

Local Knights of Pythias hosted about forty visiting knights from nearby cities along with the San Bernardino degree team. New candidate received third degree. Ring events featured boxing matches and a comedy act by W. Misenheimer. Pomona’s Walter C. Guerin spoke on the order's future. several bouts ended in draws or decisive pins.

Silk Red Cross Flag Prize For Collection

The Red Cross Headquarters displays a white silk flag to be awarded to the Sunday School with the largest Red Cross War Fund collection relative to membership. Children are urged to raise funds, then at 9 a.m. Monday a parade led by Boy Scouts will proceed through downtown, with the winning school showcasing the flag donated by Corona campaign manager Mr Genereux.

Indian Fighter to Be at the Library

Mr. P. J. Galhooly will furnish the program at the Public Library this Thursday night. He will exhibit relics from the Philippines gathered during Civil service in the Islands and tell of his wartime experiences. He also recalls fighting Indians in Arizona and now lives in Corona on Magnolia Avenue. Admission is free.
