Suspect Arrested in U.S. Smuggling Case
Pedro Morales Gonzales, 35, of 122 North Sheridan Street, was arrested by federal immigration officers after local police located him following a warrant. He is charged with smuggling two or more young women from Mexico for immoral purposes and taking them to labor camps while keeping their money. one woman became pregnant. He will be arraigned before the U.S. Commissioner in San Bernardino today.

Three Marines Hurt in Temecula Bridge Crash Near Hemet

Three Elsinore Residents Hospitalized After Auto Crash
Three Elsinore residents Mrs Sadie Shrubstein Mrs Mollie Kassman and Joseph Wilkes were admitted to Corona Hospital after a single vehicle crash on Highway 71 near Elsinore. Kassman suffered severe head injuries while Wilkes and Shrubstein had bruises and small cuts. The car went off the road and into a ditch at about 6 p m. The Brown Grimes ambulance transported the injured to Corona. Fay McBride of Veech Trailer Courts was later admitted to Riverside General Hospital after being found wandering dazed in Corona and loaded from the police station.

Charles Elmer Hough of La Sierra pleaded guilty to burning in a receptacle without a permit on June 17. He was fined 25 dollars with 10 suspended for one year. Stanley Gordon Buckalow of Hawthorne was fined 25 dollars on two counts on June 16 for rabbit poaching during a closed season and for lacking a hunting license. Donald M. McMilay and Owen T. Thomas, both of La Sierra, pleaded guilty to violating burning permit terms and were fined 25 dollars with 10 suspended.
