Generally clear to flight and tomorrow with night and morning fog along the coast and coastal valleys. Interior and desert areas remain hot tonight and tomorrow. Highs 95 to 105 in valleys, 85 at noon with a low around 53.
The Corona school board adopted a revised tentative budget for 1952 53 by a three to one vote with Ray Williams dissenting and John Calladay absent. Expenses rise to 987 014 from 863 182, and the tax rate increases to 2 06. Capital outlay is estimated at 28 582, with 7 000 planned for one third of two 60 passenger buses. The meeting adjourned to June 27 at 7 30 p.m. to allow possible changes before the June 7 deadline.
A tentative tax rate of 8 cents per $100 assessed value would raise $20,000 for flood control in Zone 2 Corona area as part of the Riverside County District Flood Control budget for 1952-53. The plan increases overall taxes by 2 cents, detailing zones, amounts raised, and projects including land purchase in Temescal Canyon and a Prado Basin study.

Colorado Eisenhower campaign cochairman L. M. Pexton says if Eisenhower is not treated fairly at the July 7 Republican convention in Chicago he may seek the presidency on a new third party ticket. He added he speaks only as an individual, not as a campaign representative.

City Attorney John Ganahl told council last night that a new ordinance is unnecessary to prohibit card games in pool halls. He said enforcement under the existing ordinance allowing license revocation for nonconforming establishments can control card games. The council, by unanimous vote, agreed to prohibit card games and adjourned to June 30 to consider the next fiscal year budget.
A burglar broke into an unfamiliar office in Terre Haute Indiana and searched drawers. Realizing the mistake he found he was in Community Chest headquarters and departed leaving a note apologizing and saying nothing was taken.
