Delegates arrive as Denver hosts a Rotary convention week with five hundred more attendees since Tuesday. Dinners and celebrations mark the gathering, while speakers urge practical ethics and community projects. Rotary-Anns host a garden fiesta and a Rocky Mountains pageant entertains attendees.
H M May of the California Fruit Growers Exchange spoke at a Rotary luncheon in Upland detailing Corona lemon products including citric acid lemon oil and pectin. One eighth of the Corona plant belongs to Upland growers valued at 750000 with initial Upland investment of 33600. Division Engineer RE Sullivan of the state highway commission announces oiling of the Waterman canyon road to Crestline will start June 28. The plan is to have the road from the camp to Crestline oiled by the Fourth of July. The dust is heavy, making travel uncomfortable, and the light fuel oil will lay the dust for weeks.
The formal notice states the 1927 convention will be held in Qostead Belgian. It confirms King Albert will open the convention in person and notes his honorary membership in the Brussels club.

In Gary Indiana the 11th man killed in the Illinois Steel coke by products plant gas explosion is identified as the final victim. A 500 man cleanup crew works to clear debris as the wrecked plant is set to be rebuilt.

James T Meatsgenmery long keeper of the Liberty Bell statues in Independence Hall died on the eve of the bell’s 100th anniversary. He hosted visitors including the Prince of Wales Marshal Foch King Edward VII Kipling and Lloyd George during his years guarding the famed bell.
Delmar Garner, son of police chief Eli Garner, was injured when his speedster car overturned near the ball park on West Sixth street last night. He suffers a broken collar bone, ankle injury, and severe bruises and is hospitalized at Corona Hospital. a Garner companion escaped with minor injuries and returned home.
Redondo Beach prepares to welcome vacationers with bathing facilities at the Bath House featuring three sea water pools and locker rooms. The Ballroom hosts dance bands and free Wednesday children’s dances with novelties. Pier fishing, motor boats, amusement rides, theatres, picnics, and gas cooking facilities are advertised for family enjoyment.
