Miss Polly Ann Skinner Chosen for Nurse Training
Miss Polly Ann Skinner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Skinner of Sheridan Street, was selected by the Woman's Improvement Club committee to receive nurse training from Corona. The club raised funds with local supporters to aid a Corona girl in the program. Skinner, a Corona High and Chaffey Junior College graduate, will begin training at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena when the course opens, likely in fall. She plans to work this summer with funds from the club, American Legion Auxiliary, and citizens. Her father is a World War I veteran and her mother a trained nurse.

Mark Martinez, in his early seventies, died Monday night at 7:15 at his Santa Ana home where he had lived since leaving Corona. He worked for the Santa Ana public utilities. Survived by his wife, one daughter, two grandchildren, and several Corona relatives. Funeral Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral in Santa Ana.
