Birdsall Hosts Snyder Wedding Secret in Yuma

Mr and Mrs Edwin Birdsall entertained Mrs Snyder and her husband Mr Farr Snyder of Pomona at dinner. Mrs Snyder, formerly Miss Sue Birdsall raised here and a Corona High School graduate, married in Yuma two weeks ago. Their daughter is Mrs Chas Birdsall, now of Long Beach.

Mrs Day Jewell Hosts 91st District American Legion Auxiliary

Mrs Day Jewell president of the 91st district hosted Auxiliary officers and chairmen from Orange and Riverside counties at her 11th Street home. A noon luncheon preceded reports and district discussions. Coruna attendees included Mrs R J Steiner Mrs Henry Linscheid Mrs Howard Ware and Mrs Grace Moore with Mrs Pauline Shannon also serving on the district resolutions committee.

Alvord Women Present Play At Home One Act

The Alvord Woman's club drama section staged a humorous one act titled At Home with Mrs W H Rapson as chair Tuesday evening for the Alvord Farm Bureau. Cast included Mrs Hugh Skinner Mrs K McKenzie Mrs G B Hobbs Mrs Glenn Wilkins Miss Martha Jones Mrs C R Huggins Mya Rapson and Mrs Ellen Santos directed by Mrs Earl Bennett. It is hoped the group will perform before the Woman's club in the fall.

Methodists Report Gratifying Church Year Progress

The First Methodist Church reports strong member participation at the Loyalty Social. District Superintendent Dr. Edwin Stricker praised the year’s reports and noted the church’s improvements, including $3400 toward the building fund.
