Corona-Norco dinner honors Aaron Banks installs officers

Aaron Banks is to be feted at a Corona-Norco Community ed dinner meeting on June 21 to honor a past president and install newly elected officers for a one year term. St. Edward's hall hosts the event with plates at 1.50 paid at the door. Rev. Patrick Guillen will be speaker and entertainment comes from the Guadalupe Dancers. Installations include Ben Gonzales president Paul Garza vice president Alice Zarate secretary Margaret Vasquez treasurer John Zarate policy commissioner.

Children League Installation Set at Corona Bowl

New officers of the Children's League of Corona Community Hospital will be installed by Emily Hastings during a ceremony Monday evening June 21 at the Corona Bowl. A social half hour from 7 to 7 30 and a dinner follow. Awards will be presented after the installation. This will be the final meeting of the year.

Penningtons mark 50th wedding anniversary

Mr and Mrs R E Pennington of 418 West Seventh Street recently celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Over fifty friends and relatives attended the open house and others sent cards and flowers. They were married in Kansas in 1921 and moved to Corona in 1936. He is a retired mechanic.

Local Family Courthouse Graduates Near Oakland

The daughter, son-in-law, and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Cowling of Corona completed high school in Oakland. Alfred and Dorothy Milan received diplomas from Oakdale Adult High School while their son Clyde graduated from Oakdale High School. Mrs Milan moved to Corona in 1944 when her husband’s father was transferred by the Navy. The Milans married in 1945 at a Corona area hospital.
