Miss Marcelle Fuller Weds Charles Powers in Corona Ceremony

Miss Marcelle Fuller daughter of Mr and Mrs O R Fuller of the Fuller Rancho united in marriage to Charles Clifton Powers son of Mrs Herbert C Powers of Joplin Missouri. The ceremony at Corona First Methodist Church was conducted by Dr J D Van Buskirk before almost a hundred relatives and friends. Baskets of cut flowers and white blossoms formed an aisle as the couple exchanged vows. The bride wore white satin with a fingertip veil and carried white orchids and valley lilies. The bridal party included matron of honor Mrs Edward S Powers and maid of honor Miss Juanita Weddington, with bridesmaid Mrs Charles W Gardiner Jr. The groom’s party wore white palm beach suits. A wedding dinner followed, then dancing in the art gallery with a string orchestra. The couple left for a two week honeymoon to Yosemite and San Francisco and plan to reside in Los Angeles. Coronans in attendance included A C Barnes, J A Lindsey, W A Kilby, J Eugene Blair, J Albert Chaney, R C Verity, and Glen DeVoe.

Present Day Club Enjoys Brunch at Corona Park

Present Day club members met at Corona city park for a brunch prepared by Mrs. Fred Schaal Mrs. George McCauley and Mrs. Rouby Sullivan. President Mrs. C Gully presided at the meeting and Jessie Chaney gave a history of the American flag and its etiquette.

Townsend Women Plan Social Time At Club Nile Meeting

Mary Yardley Wedge in Las Vegas

Miss Mary Yardley daughter of Mr and Mrs Wm Yardley of this city married Lynn Cates of Riverside on June tenth. Rev Ford Gilbert of the Methodist church Las Vegas Nevada officiated. The bride wore white lace with turban and matching accessories and wore a gold locket. She is a Corona high school and Riverside junior college graduate in languages and music and worked for the Mission Inn. The groom attended Riverside schools and works for Riverside Cement company.

Calendar Social Plans At Congregational Auxiliary Meeting

Mrs. Frank Johnson presided as secretary treasurer at the church meeting held Wednesday afternoon. With the president and vice president away, Mrs. Daniel Hogan led devotionals. Plans for fall Calendar socials and the next auxiliary gathering were set for September. The group decided to send a comfort to Tillotson University in Austin and six sheets to LeMoyne College in Memphis in the name of the missionary society. A dozen tea towels were hemmed, and a luncheon was provided by several members.

4H Reservations for Camp Radford Near San Bernardino

Nearly 100 reservations for the 4 H camp in the San Bernardino mountains at Camp Radford are on file with Lloyd F P Sharp assistant county farm advisor. He expects more than 150 county 4 H members to attend the encampment which runs from Saturday to Wednesday noon June 21.
