Joe Phillips Named President of Corona Tennis Club

Joe Phillips, junior high athletic instructor, was elected president of the Corona Tennis Club at a Saturday meeting. Officers include Jack Abbott as vice president, Mrs. Burt Irwin as secretary, Mrs. Kenneth Whitcomb as treasurer, and Ken Whitcomb with Remi Chagnon as tournament chairmen. The group discussed inviting the Ensenada tennis team for a return match after the Coronans travelled to Ensenada in late April.

A. K. Whidden of 1326 South Main Street climbs his 100th peak, Wilshire Peak at 8707 feet in the San Bernardino National Forest, joining the 100-Peaker club.
