Cor ona Senior High stages its 422 graduates at a 7 30 p m ceremony on the football field with Pomp and Circumstance. Student Body President Pat Ganahl leads the Pledge. Reverend Forrest F Hubbel gives the invocation. Susan Allen salutatorian and Carol Russum valedictorian address the class.
Augie Ramirez outlines safety and seating plans for the graduation ceremony at Tain View Country Club. Honor junior ushers form a daisy chain while parents are asked to be seated by 7 10 and stay until the ceremony ends. Posts near the platform will be wrapped and farther away to prevent gown tears, and a wheelchair section will be reserved for elderly guests.

He had been convicted of conspiracy and grand theft last December for stealing more than 50000 dollars in scrap metal from Rohr Corp.
A Minuteman ICBM was deliberately destroyed after launch at Vandenberg AFB causing minor grass fires. No injuries or damage to space and missile installations were reported. This marked the third launch in 24 hours, with the fires controlled per an Air Force briefing.
A 38 minute power failure affected about 1500 residents in south southeast and west Corona. The outage began at 9 15 a m when two local men accidentally shot a power line at Rincon and Corydon streets. Edison Power and Light Company received about 200 calls before power was restored at 9 53 a m.

Twelve local youths aged 16 to 22 will be hired at the Naval Ordnance Laboratory Corona during the vacation period under President Johnson s Youth Opportunity Campaign. Applications open June 14 to June 25 with interviews 8 30 a m to 3 p m weekdays.
The Air Force launched an Atlas D intercontinental ballistic missile at Vandenberg AFB on the western test range. The test, conducted by the 6595th Aerospace Test Wing, supported the U.S. Army Nike Zeus anti missile program.
Government forces retake the Dong Xoai district town 60 miles north of Saigon after a daylong fight in which American and South Vietnamese defenders faced a heavy mortar assault. The clash leaves 31 Americans killed wounded or missing as Viet Cong overrun the training camp nearby and capture the town.
The Air Force C121 with sixteen aboard lost two engines about 900 miles off the California coast. A Coast Guard amphibian intercepted the crippled four engine craft at 7:45 a.m. and escorted it to a coast landing while the plane continued toward Los Angeles from Honolulu. The first report of trouble came before 5 a.m. with engine No. 3 failing, followed by engine No. 4.
A three man OAS team in Santo Domingo met Maj. Gen. Antonio Imbert Barrera and discussed a compromise to end the Dominican crisis. No results were announced after Wednesday talks.
Frontera reports Mrs. Lucille Miller, serving a life term for her dentist husband’s fiery October death, was returned to the women’s institution after giving birth to her fourth child at St. Bernardine’s hospital. Her final moments with the newborn were quiet. she cried when visited by a teenage daughter. An appeal remains pending.
California Employment Director Albert Tieburg extended the deadline for growers to decide on using 7 500 federal recruited workers. Brower groups argued meetings were needed before the new 5 a.m today cutoff and Brown would forward results to the U S Secretary Wirtz. Wirtz had said refusal to domestic workers would reduce the foreign quota accordingly.
