Four members of the Corona Buckskins 4 H Club earned prizes at Moreno Valley High School Food Fiesta. Alicia Young won a top Gold Award for her meat loaf main dish, Glenn Cook earned a blue ribbon for beef and bacon meatballs, and Brenda Harsh took a blue ribbon in desserts for a chocolate crazy cake.

Eugene A. Navarek, city attorney for Norco since July 1972, resigned his post in a letter to the city council. Effective July 1, the resignation was unanimously approved with regret. The law firm Clayson Stark Rothrock Mann had represented the city, and no replacement was yet chosen.
Coronita Eleven students received Rotary Club Improvement Awards at an assembly. The event honored cross age teachers office and health room helpers, motor skills and audiovisual aides, and food service and custodial staff. Award recipients include Betty Martinez Tracy Johnson Kathleen Doty Bob Drouillard Roslyn McElroy Cynthia Medina Robyn Adkins Donna Kacalo Chris Wilkeson Penny Donner and Roger Shelafoe.
John Davie Campbell 80 died this week in Corona Community Hospital. He is survived by his son Edgar Campbell of Corona and one grandson. Campbell came to the United States from Scotland and lived five years in the area. Services at Crestlawn Mortuary Chapel Norco with interment in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
In the past 24 hours five burglaries hit Corona. Kathleen Larson reported a 246 dollar loss of a movie camera ring silver dollars a necklace and possibly the family cat after a screen was removed and an unlocked sliding window entered. RUDY FELIX reported a 120 dollar loss when a car trunk was pried open at Corona High School parking lot. LUPE ARTAGA lost a 150 dollar sewing machine as two men moved it from a back porch into a car. A glass break at Phillip's Pontiac caused 120 dollars in damage with nothing missing.
A U S District Court injunction halts eviction of three multiracial families at Corona Park Townhouses on South Cota Street. Moore Development Co and its VP Patrick Moore face a civil rights suit over alleged Fair Housing Act violations seeking 24000 in damages. A pre trial conference is set for Aug 26 in Los Angeles.
Riverside authority approved a 257 acre zoning shift in the Glen Ivy area to M-R-A for Temescal Properties Inc after a public hearing with no opposition. The plan places the property south of Highway 71 and east of Maitrn Road, amid nearby residents including Felipe Rivera and Kathy, Ronald and Sheila Hodge, and Robert and Wilma Houghton.
Norco City Council moved to buy 18.3 acres north of Ingalls Park for 122990 over two years. An initial 60645 down payment transfers 9.33 acres to the city, with the rest leased with a buy option and staged payments through 1976, funded within this year’s budget without tax increases.
Two Coronans received degrees at Loma Linda University rites. Alice L Beckmann earned a bachelor of science in physical therapy. Kathleen L Kreiser earned the same degree in occupational therapy.
John Fish son of Mr and Mrs Gordon Fish of 2018 Garretson Corona graduated this week at Webb School in Claremont He was editor of the school newspaper and active in the service organization and the chess club He will attend Lewis & Clark College this fall.
Betty Chandler opens her Corona home at 7 30 p m Sunday for an evening of crafts for United Methodist Church members.
