Henry S Noble of Norco Taken by Death at 55

Henry S Noble of Norco died after a brief illness at Riverside Community Hospital. He was 55, born November 19, 1904 in Foosland Illinois. He moved to California 30 years ago, lived in Arcadia, then Norco, and worked as a feed salesman for Golden State Milling Co. in Downey. Survived by widow Rosalynd, a son Richard, granddaughter Robin Noble, mother Grace J Noble, two brothers Richard and Gene, and sister Katherine. Private services were held at Bell-Thomas Mortuary Chapel Riverside with plans to forward the body to Gibson City Illinois for interment.

Joan G Clark Taken by Death at Age 85

Mrs. Joan G Clark of 316 West Olive St died yesterday at Palm Terrace Convalescent Home La Sierra at age 85. Born October 3 1874 in Kemnay Scotland she came to the United States in 1912 and became naturalized in 1927. Survived by husband James a son William J Clark a daughter Elizabeth Riddle a grandson Douglas N Clark and a brother James Gibbs of Cults Scotland. Private graveside services Wednesday at Sunnyslope Cemetery conducted by Rev Gordon Dalbeck First Congregational Church. Flowers omitted. Bell Thomas Mortuary in charge.

Boy shoots grandmother in park over scolding

In Mahwah New Jersey a 13 year old boy killed his 83 year old great great grandmother Mabel Del Groat after she scolded him for firing a rifle in a public park. The boy's parents Mr and Mrs James Mann found her body when they came to pick up their son.

Earthquake Jolts Northern California Coastline No Damage Reported

A sharp quake struck the Northern California coast near Eureka at 6:18 p.m. Pacific time. It registered on the Berkeley seismograph for about 40 minutes with intensity 5.14 to 5.34 on the Richter scale. No major damage noted except antiques broken in McKinleyville.

Ex president Victor Paz Estenssoro secures a new four year term amid unofficial balloting results. He led with about 306 419 votes to Walter Guevara Arce’s 51 037, though figures vary with a rival newspaper citing 202 441 for Estenssoro and 66 731 for Guevara.

Axel Springborg Heads 50th Hotel Greeters Convention

Axel Springborg, president of Roads to Romance Association and Glen Ivy Hot Springs owner, attends the Hotel Greeters of America 50th anniversary convention in Denver June 7 11. He has just returned from the International Hotel Association Congress in Dublin and will represent the Orange Belt Charter as past president and current officer. Farflung bomb threat forces four airliners to land

A man identifying himself as Schwartz phoned a news service to warn that a jet leaving Idlewild at 9 a.m. would blow up. Four airliners diverted to Dallas Wichita Kansas City Bermuda as a precaution. no bomb was found and searches ended without incident.
