Parkridge Club Fines Dropped In Corona Traffic Court

History was made in Corona police court as Parkridge Club members and others faced numerous traffic tickets on Memorial Day. Judge C D McNeil dismissed many cases citing invalid stop signs while fines were cut or waived. the club agreed to telegraph $115 to a Corona bank by Friday to cover the penalties.

Riverside June 6 John L Stubblefield a Temecula rancher was exonerated by a coroner's jury for shooting Walter Ritchie 42 his former partner at Stubblefield's Ranch near Temecula late Monday night The jury ruled justifiable homicide concluding the feud spanning four years and released Stubblefield from custody The inquest traced a partnership dispute over cotton and grain profits with later tensions involving family matters and financial disagreements in Arizona and California

Brother of Corona man dies by suicide in Oklahoma

John Ragsdale of Corona reports his brother Lon L Ragsdale aged thirty four residing in Sulpsua Oklahoma and employed as a foreman in Warvigan oil fields for fourteen years died by his own hand. He left a wife and three children and three brothers and a sister including John Ragsdale and Mrs Maude Highland both of Corona. Funeral held at Fort Gibson Oklahoma on Monday June 4th after Highland left for the service last Thursday.

Fruit Freight Charge Cut Boosts California Oranges

Officials of the Queen Colony Fruit Exchange say a three cent per 100 pounds terminal charge on California oranges and lemons to New England points is canceled this Thursday. The move saves growers about 10.81 per carload in Corona district and could refund past charges totaling over 225000 in a pending Interstate Commerce Commission case.
