World Friendship Group Hosts Congregational Tea Meeting

Mrs Elizabeth Cross and Mrs A Fraser led a World Friendship group event at the Congregational church on Friday. Grace Hunt read two chapters from Moving Millions while L L Andrews summarized City Shadows. Devotionals by Annie Lincoln and current events by W J Fink rounded out the afternoon. Reports on Riverside conference were given by Mrs Mogan and Mrs Lyman. Tea closed the gathering with plans for a July meeting at the Lyman home on East Olive street.

Fastvale School Picnic at Corona City Park

Eastvale school held a Thursday picnic at Corona city park. Teachers Mrs. Grace Bynum and Miss Faith McElfresh led a program. the Mothers' club provided luncheon. Hart Miller and James K. Howey of Mira Loma presented American Legion medals to Victor Scamara and Darline Runyan. ribbon winners included Betty Seele and Doris Meissmer.

Freshman Observers at Coronation of Softie Role Night

June 1939 event where ninth graders hosted a faculty aided dinner for freshmen. Menu included spring salad Swiss steak browned potatoes and fresh vegetables followed by dessert. After dinner students attended Inside Story and Thundering West at Corona Theatre.

Mrs. R. D. West organized the event at the old Pioneer school house drawing over 150 former neighbors and friends. Attendees included Miss Davis a former teacher and five alumni from 45 years ago. L. L. Andrews recalled oxen driving through Santa Ana canyon to make a sheep path amid tall alfilaria.
