Two distinguished army officers visited Corona today en route to Oceanside via Santa Ana. General Young Major Gundry Lieutenant Keyser and Sergeant Howe served as chauffeur. They hail from the 65th Artillery Brigade, a brigade with three regiments.
Gen Young and Maj Gundry will re inspect the 143rd Field Artillery en route from Los Angeles and inspect the 144th at Oceanside. The 143rd may arrive Thursday evening or Friday morning and will camp near Corona for an over night rest on West Sixth Street outside the Boulevard.

Born December 1 1837 in Batavia NY he lived in Mt Morris and Nunda NY about 48 years before moving to Barry County Michigan then California. He died June 1 1918 after a life of church membership and family devotion with II Timothy 4 7 chosen as his funeral text.
The Riverside War Council approves a county wide war savings stamp campaign to raise 624 140 dollars with Riverside 463 278 and other cities allocated specific amounts. The drive runs June 17 to 19 and targets two billion dollars in purchases by June 2.
