Washington reports the 32 600 men draft for August will push U S manpower toward the 3 093 million ceiling as Air Force and Navy exceed their budgets. Officials say U S strategy in Viet Nam unchanged while options include more conventional bombing or continued force support to pressure a negotiated settlement.
A pack of seven or more dogs attacked four Holstein calves and a Brahma steer at the Norco Locker Plant. Neighbors drove the dogs away. one dog identified as a neighborhood pet. Calves were moved for treatment. steer frightened, wandered off and was later recovered. Owner may shoot any found attacking livestock.
O M Taylor president of the Norco Community Services District board says he is running for re election on his past eight years of service. He cites improved water, fire and sewer services and ongoing upgrades as proof of performance. He contrasts his record with opponents backed by the Norco Agriculture Association who favor immediate city annexation.
