Garage Owner Nabs Suspected Check Forger

A Riverside area garage owner detained a man who passed a $25 check for $20 of repairs. Roy Arthur Miguel, 51, of Anaheim, bound over to Superior Court on forgery charges after Brines chased him from West Sixth and Grand Boulevard to Corona and Santa Ana Canyon. He has prior prior records and time served in Folsom and San Quentin.

Bloodmobile to Visit Corona on June 19 for 200 Donors

The Bloodmobile unit will be in Corona Thursday June 19 to secure blood for the Armed Forces. The Woman's Improvement Club provides the clubhouse. Mrs W D Addison will recruit donors and Mrs E E B Knauer will recruit 50 aides for the Corona branch American Red Cross.

Corona school board votes to continue curriculum coordinator

The Corona school board approved continuing the curriculum coordinator position four to one, despite a committee recommendation to abolish it for economy. Publisher Reich of Merced Express Dies

Victor P. Reich 51 Merced civic leader and publisher of the Weekly Merced Express died at home of a heart attack He chaired the Merced County recreation commission and moved to Merced from Watsonville in 1926 He is survived by widow Mary and son Lt Robert Dale Reich of Camp Cook A pressing iron of Victorian days burned charcoal and had a chimney.

Three Scouts Named in 1952 Moffett Memorial Award

Charles Colladay Larry McNutt and Tom Olson won the Frederick Moffett Jr Memorial awards pack trips into the High Sierras. Alternates were Dene nis Bethurum and Jim Rohleder. The Temescal District Court of Honor announced the winners at First Baptist church with John C. Brown presiding. Bruce Strauss received Life Scout ranks. Second Class ranks went to B. J. Linder and James Guy. The evening featured a fire fighting film and merit badge presentations across Troops 54 34 and 38.

Squabble Over Bathing Suit Sparks Arrests in City Court

Two women from 113 Washburn Street admitted a disturbance charge after a fighting incident over a $6.22 bathing suit. Charlotte Gonzales and Concha Guzman paid 37 dollar fines each and had 10 days in jail suspended on good behavior. Officer James Wearn filed the complaint. Paul Flores of Mira Loma forfeited a $25 bail for intoxication.
