Rail accident claims life of Fred Thompson prominent church worker
Fred Thompson, 6:45 a m death after a railroad accident last Wednesday. A Santa Fe brakeman, he fell from a switch engine pilot during a flying switch. The injury led to a lung clot and loss of a leg. An inquest was scheduled at City Hall with Dr. W S Davis in attendance. Thompson was an assistant Sunday School superintendent and an elder in the Christian Church. He leaves a wife and child with funeral plans pending.
