Banning backed Childers 406 to 270, while Palm Springs favored retention 110 to 40. Vincent Stone proposed as successor did not win, with E A Newton receiving 254 votes to Stones 60.

Mrs Maude A Marshall longtime resident of Fall River Wisconsin and mother of Mrs H B Deming of Corona dies after long illness. Survived by daughter Mrs Deming two sons W F Marshall and W C Marshall and mother Mrs Cora Fiske plus sisters Mrs W F Saunders and Miss Carlotta Fish. Body to be shipped to Cedar Rapids Iowa for funeral and burial arrangements made. Mrs Deming to travel east tonight to attend services.
