Tomorrow marks Christmas with joy for some and sorrow for others as the paper recalls the season. It urges care for the less fortunate, honors memories of absent loved ones, and celebrates the happiness brought by children and adopted families in Corona.
Experts at a Pasadena conference favor a Corona path up to the Puente hills with a 13 mile tunnel from Gilman’s Hot Springs toward the Brea reservoir. The plan would place Corona near the main aqueduct work, with surveys and tunneling likely before any construction starts.
Impromptu street confrontation on Second and Main drew a crowd as two women settled a personal dispute last evening. Two local businessmen rushed to intervene but the combatants dispersed before help arrived, leaving the scene with festive, peacekeeping intentions cited by witnesses.

Nearly all Corona stores will close tomorrow for Christmas with restaurants garages drug stores and other essential businesses allowed to operate. City hall utilities banks and the post office will be closed with no mail deliveries as Uncle Sam presents a Christmas holiday to staff.
