A coroner's jury returned an open verdict in the death of 81 year old George H. Brown after an inquest in Corona. Eyewitnesses said Brown crossed Main street near Fifth as Lois Bell's car approached slowly. The jury found no blame for either Brown or Bell in the fatal collision.

Knife Point Robbery Injures Young Station Attendant
A 16 year old service station attendant Alfred Allega was robbed at 8 05 p m by a white man about six feet tall wearing a brown suede jacket brown pants and a blue felt hat. The robber demanded 80 from the Pergin Serve Yourself station at 1210 West Sixth Street and fled on foot after striking the youth in the head. The injured attendant was taken to hospital and died from a skull fracture after doctors found no pulse. An inquest was held at Brown Funeral Home.

Greyhound Bus overturns near Marietta injuring thirty
A Greyhound bus overturned on a curve near Marietta Ohio injuring 30 of 32 passengers. Police say the bus hit a guard rail and rolled over while traveling from Cleveland to Parkersburg West Virginia. Most injured were released from hospitals shortly after the crash.
