Corona Panth ers defeated Orange 82 to 20 as Jimmie Ragsdale led with eleven points. The Panthers opened with a 14-0 run before Orange scored, finishing the first half with an 18-8 edge and pushing ahead on a rolling screen offense in the third quarter.
Riverside rivals the Corona Panthers tangle with the Riverside Poly Bears in a 6 15 p m Midwest matchup. Panthers led by Williams and Smith face a strong Orange squad as two sharp shooting forwards pace the Eagles.
Douglas Lee Parrish, 24, of 305 Howard Street, suffered a broken wrist when his car struck a tree at the corner of Tenth and Joy streets. He veered, crossed a sidewalk, hopped a rotted two foot wall, and wrecked into a city park on Fast Grand Boulevard. Parrish was taken to Corona Hospital by officers.
Attorney General Fred Howser ruled that William O. Mackey may legally serve Riverside County as both district attorney and county counsel. Swarl Redwine had doubted the arrangement. Howser cited a long-standing county practice and a Supreme Court ruling supporting the dual role.

The Mc Caghren family of Elsinore welcomed a 6 pounds 6 ounces boy at 12 14 a.m. The Jenkins family of Perris had a 6 pounds 11 ounces son born at 4 48 a.m. The McVay family of Corona welcomed a 6 pounds 10 ounces boy at 8 16 a.m. One Corona couple, the Laras, reported a son born December 18 at Riverside County hospital. Carlton Eugene Russell, son of Dr. and Mrs. C A Russell, is expected Thursday from New London Connecticut for a ten day visit. he attends the U S Coast Guard Academy. Jack Russell, at college in Santa Barbara, will be in Corona until year’s end.
