Corona's First Congregational and United Methodist churches will jointly hold two Communion services on Christmas Eve. Methodist service at 7 p.m. and Congregational service at 8:30 p.m. All pastors will take part at both services to encourage ecumenical cooperation and respect for the other church.
Grace Lutheran Church Lincoln and Citron invites a Sunday service at 10 a.m. to receive a group of new members including Mrs. Gene Artle, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ellis, Roberta, Clifford Kasad, Charles Schmidt, LeRoy Vahle, John Mark and Cheryl. The Rite of Confirmation joins the Adult Instruction Class. Pastor Cliff Voge speaks on The Christmas Visitor at Our Door. Christmas Eve program at 7 p.m. and Christmas Day service at 10 a.m. feature the theme Prophecy and Fulfillment and the sermon And It Came To Pass.
Four Corona churches sponsor the annual college-age Open House at Dr. Carol Jameson’s home 1114 E Grand Blvd on Dec 29 from 8 p.m. to midnight. Young adults from Methodist First Baptist Episcopal and Congregational churches helped plan this event. Community members in this age group are invited and reservations are required by calling any sponsor before noon Dec 29.
Children of the First Baptist Church of Corona present a Christmas program at 7 p.m. Sunday in the church sanctuary. All ages take part in the Trim the Tree festival directed by Joyce Sears. Family night, led by Rosemary Scott, includes refreshments in the social hall. A candlelight service is planned for Christmas Eve at 7 p.m.
The Lesson Sermon for Sunday at First Church of Christ Scientist, 1021 Marie St., will explore the universe including man evolving by atomic force. Public services start at 11 a.m. with all welcome.
Corona First Assembly of God Church schedules its annual Christmas Missionary service at 7 pm with David Cawston family as guests. The event features Christmas music by the chapel choir and a presentation by the Cawstons, followed by fellowship, refreshments, and gifts to the visiting family. The church sits at 804 St Lincoln Ave and invites the public to attend.
Norco Seventh Day Adventist Church members will carol Sunday and Monday to raise funds for medical educational welfare and disaster aid worldwide. Every member participates in the annual drive aiming to collect 2100 dollars across three evenings with doorbell ringing song and donation requests.
Norco Church of the Nazarene presents two cantatas Sunday under the theme A Musical Celebration. Sanctuary Choir directed by Mrs Mary Lewis performs A Song Unending in the 9 30 a m and 10 50 a m services. The Pasadena Youth Choir offers Joy to the World at 6 p m in the evening program.
