J. A. Provensal, youngest son of P. Provensal, died in the service at Camp Meade Maryland. His funeral was held at Hoover Chapel Main Street with six High School Cadets as pallbearers. Father Finnins conducted the burial at Sunnyslope Cemetery. A firing squad saluted, the bugler played taps, and an American flag covered the casket. Local businesses closed in respect.
