Thursday afternoon Mrs W C Jeaning hosted friends at her Fisher place for a Christmas table luncheon. Contract bridge games with prizes awarded to Mrs Jesse Hill and Mrs I Albert Newcomb. Attendees included Miss Wim Kirby C A Steves J Eugene Liar Raymond Cox C A Russell Corena Mrs Martie Darrow from Riverside.
Members of Townsend 13 club met Tuesday afternoon at the Pleasant home of Mrs A M Hinksey. President Mrs Harry Russel presided with twelve members present. They planned a pot-luck birthday tribute for Dr Francis F Townsend and promised a duck dinner and further entertainment.
Girl Scouts of Troop No. 1 Penjg oved a Christmas party at Aubhouse Thursday afternoon under the direction of Mays. R. C. Verity and Miss Ann Teller led the event with a Christmas tree and a gift for every attendee. Refreshments were served and the party closed with carols sung to piano accompaniment by Ann Harker.

Southern California junior college at La Sierra hosts a week long festival opening this afternoon in Hole Memorial auditorium with a history talk by Baptist Missionary Volunteer society. A vesper, SONS band, piano and violin recitals, Handel Messiah, and a string ensemble with a cappella choir close the program with Christmas music.
Workmen removed a large sign at Byron and Magnolia in Riverside Valley Home Gardens. Rumor says a grocery store will rise on the site, part of a plan to develop the Gardens’ four corners. The Home Gardens market has just opened under Richards and Son, with a formal opening planned tomorrow.
Lincoln School Girl Scouts held a Christmas party at the girls club house on Wednesday afternoon. The event featured games exchanges of gifts and refreshments with many members listed including Janet Bishop Irene Blume Ita May Bryant Bebbette Cenotta Hazell Dennis Yvonne Dupuis Florine Gonzales Mary Lou Hastings Bettey Jean Grassic Stellen Ann Harker Grace Jackson and others.
Raymon Hernandez, repeatedly fined and jailed for offenses linked to his drinking habit, pled guilty before Judge George FE McCauley yesterday. He received a six month sentence to the Riverside county road camp to serve his term and reflect on his downfall.
Parents and friends enjoyed a two act Lincoln school play by fifth and sixth graders on Thursday afternoon. The cast featured Jack Lewis as a watchman and Donald Bradley as the father with many pupils in roles from villagers to angels and shepherds.
