In Trenton New Jersey Judge Thomas W. Trenchard set the week of January 13 for the execution of Bruno Richard Hauptmann the man convicted in the Lindbergh kidnapping murder. Hauptmann showed no reaction as news reached him in the death row cell. The only possible stay would be a habeas corpus writ based on new evidence, or a ruling by the New Jersey board of pardons.
The Norconian hosts a Sunday concert from 4 to 6 with soprano Betty N. McRoy and contralto Blanche Phillips, accompanied by Constance Piper. Director Samoiloff presents a program by artistically known voices followed by a buffet supper from 6 to 8 and a continued program.

President Roosevelt said he will ask Congress to extend the Neutrality Act when it convenes next month. The act expires in February and he declined to state whether raw materials would be banned for shipment to belligerents, noting Congress will decide.
