Dr Blake S Allison and bride Miss Ethel Morse of Long Beach hosted a nine o clock breakfast at the Mission Inn Riverside. Guests included Mr and Mrs Henry Van Buren Mr and Mrs P B Elsmo Mr and Mrs C R Combs all of Long Beach and Mr and Mrs Arthur L Blakeley of Corona. After breakfast the couple departed for a brief honeymoon and will return to Long Beach where a new home has been built for them.
At the Alvord Boosters club dinner Rev. R H Gordon of Riverside discussed the Jewish problem and race traits noting prior encounters. Rev R L Baskerville shared insights from a tour of the south and middle west detailing New Orleans history and related points of interest. Dinner was arranged by Mmes Baskerville Rapson Hurlbert Cook Rayburn Santos and Wilkins.
John Cubley marked another milestone with a jig and a song as family members gathered Sunday in Santa Ana. Mr and Mrs Cubley visited their daughter and her family, Mr and Mrs William Lawrence, for dinner, a birthday cake centered the table and gifts were exchanged. All attendees were present except a son-in-law abroad.
The Corona Dutch club held a Saturday meeting at the new Howard Hall residence. Festive decor and gift exchanges marked the evening as contract bridge with prizes went to Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Snedecor. Attendees included Avery Bridges Frank Ranney George M. Blair D. R. Mene fee and others from Long Beach La Sierra Heights and nearby communities.
The Congregational auxiliary schedules a Wednesday gathering at the church with a 12 15 luncheon served by a committee. Mrs Perle T Glass leads the business session and members who earned five dollars for the general fund will explain how it was earned while others report later. All interested are invited.
The Nativity program featured a realistic Shepherd Scene with three youths kneeling by a camp fire while Miss Winifred Sutter voiced the Star. Mary and Joseph were portrayed by Misses John G Redeh and George Stanley. a trio sang Angels from the Realms of Glory and the Ave Maria.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mahoney attended the performance of The Nativity at Riverside on Sunday.

Evening program features discussions on The Geographic Factory in World Affairs and The Idea of a United States of Europe.
Hollywood chief cinematographer Gregg Toland explains blondes require more lighting and time, pushing up a film’s budget by about 20,000. He notes more side lamps and intricate lighting for blondes, while dark-haired casts ease production costs.

Mr and Mrs George Suide attended a banquet at the Chapman Park hotel in Los Angeles Friday night honoring Harry F Henderson who resigned after 17 years as secretary of the Los Angeles Young Men s Christian Association This completes 33 years of YMCA work in Stanford University Cleveland Ohio and Los Angeles Henderson has spoken in Corona and has many friends in the area He has taken a professorship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
