City council rejects every bid for a complete fire truck and equipment after a late bid from Fire Extinguisher Co of Los Angeles. Fire Chief Elmer Bowen favored that bid, while Boyer Co withdrew after time-limit issues. Plan aimed to boost outlying district fire protection and extend service to Corona territory.
Police court under Judge C D McNeil handled traffic offenders for ignoring boulevard stop signs. A $3 fine was levied. Docket names include A Lucern Pomona Otto Hindt Sarah J Cain C H Chard all of Los Angeles.

Riverside civic boosters plan an intensive postcard campaign to promote the city. Thousands of views showing Riverside in its best light will be sold by the chamber of commerce and mailed to friends in colder regions to attract visitors and new residents during post-card week.
Riverside December 11 The serious physical condition of Harry N. Dunbar former city treasurer under indictment for alleged mis appropriation of city funds prompted an indefinite postponement of his trial in the superior court Judge Freeman granted the delay after a Riverside physician certified Dunbar is physically incapacitated and unable to confer with counsel or attend the trial for at least thirty days.
San Jacinto on December 11 reports a new twist in the sewer project. If the disposal plant is built on the current site, nearby property owners have hired an attorney and plan to sue the city to protect their property interests.

The first talking picture to be filmed in the San Jacinto mountains is now being made at Tauquitz Lodge. For years the area has drawn moviemakers for mountain scenery, but this is the first talking film to shoot here. Large truck and trailer loads of equipment went up the grade yesterday.

A newly formed De Molay club in Riverside held its first organized meeting at the Masonic hall with many Riverside members present to aid Corona members. Howard Bender was elected president Herbert Key Jr as vice president and Ralph Woodward secretary with remaining officers to be named. Next Tuesday Corona De Molays plus three candidates will visit Riverside where the lodge will perform ceremonial work. The group practiced degree work for the Corona club.
The Welfare club of La Sierra meets all day at Mrs. Parsons home on Merrill street. They will present a Christmas program titled The Little Red School, prepared over recent time for the occasion.
Southern California high school football title game between Long Beach and Santa Barbara may be called off and forfeited to Long Beach as Santa Barbara players miss due to illness. C. I. F. considers the action after word the Santa Barbara squad is depleted by the flu.
Members of the Los Angeles water department survey crew working on the aqueduct from Boulder Dam to Los Angeles remain in the community to finish their investigation. E Langley Max J Donohoe and Ed A Kelley were guests at the Hotel Kinney last night.
Cyrus G. Northcott, long held as a material witness in the Gordon Northcott murder case, was released from jail ward custody after Superior Judge Freeman exonerated him. The 64 year old, once kept for months, followed his wife Sarah Louise Northcott, now serving life at San Quentin, who pleaded guilty to helping kill Walter Collings.
Fomigaling is in process in a portion of the county according to reports from the horticultural commission.
Frank Pinkerton, contractor, is remodeling the West Sixth Street and Belle avenues service station owned by Younggrove of Riverside. Upon completion, operation will be by Riddle and Soper with Soper in charge of the garage. The new structure measures thirty by seventy feet and aims to be among the citys most attractive locations.

Riverside December 10 charged that barber Bert Turner was falsely imprisoned for three days starting November 16. Turner sues Guy S. Garner justice of the peace for 10000 damages, claiming Turner was detained as a criminal with a bunk cell, no charges filed, and fingerprinting and photography taken.
A Santa Ana firm will ship five thousand Washington waves grapefruit and Valencia trees to Morocco as part of a $26,000 order from Southern California. The Courpandia de Agricola de Luca of Morocco coordinates the shipment, following discussions with local Elsinore nursery officials who noted prior interest in Southern California citrus stock.

A heated dispute arose over heating capacity and units between Crane Co and a radiator bidder. The council also debated removing pepper trees on Kellogg street for citrus trees and granted a public dance permit to the Saturday Night club. An audit report on city books by Ed Clark was filed.
Miss Jolly Tfalsted, a vivacious brunette whose image has circulated globally, has been named queen for the 1930 New Year’s Day parade in Pasadena. She will ride on the Tournament of Roses Association float with her court in the publicity described ceremony.
