A U S Army C-54 crashed off Labrador killing 29 aboard. The wreck prompted immediate searches and early reports indicated severe weather may have contributed to the accident. Local authorities expect full details as investigators arrive.

Miles Mathes a 62 year old laborer employed at the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Co plant at the Blue Diamond Quarry collapsed at work and died from a heart attack this morning. He was taken to hospital by Bell's ambulance but died on arrival. Mathes a native of Trinity Louisiana resided on Yourth and C Street Riverside at the time of his death.
The body of 26 year old Luli Mune Easley a Stockton waitress who disappeared six weeks was identified today. She had at least three bullet wounds in the head and was found in a brush pile by a sheep rancher 100 yards off the main highway north of Roseville. Her car was found blood stained in San Bernardino about 450 miles away. She had been dead about ten days.
Roper Lacy of Longview Texas dies of a heart attack at 63 after transforming a 26 acre potato patch into a vast oil fortune. Once offered at 300 dollars, his holdings grew to at least 45 million including a central Dallas block for a 10 million hotel.
