The Corona city council debated a Los Angeles installed heating system costing about 500 dollars. City Attorney Freeman reported the system fails to beat outdoor temperatures, prompting plans to seek explanations from the installing firm.
G Harold Powell of the California Fruit Growers Exchange and state agricultural committee spoke on the citrus market. He cited low exchange rates, rising Pacific freight costs, and Italian lemon imports depressing California lemon prices while orange sales remain strong. Powell urged higher duties, lower production costs, and freight reduction as relief.
President Wilson outlines concrete recommendations to Congress including simplification of income and profit taxes, independence for the Philippines, a loan to Armenia, tighter government economy and a workable budget, cold storage laws, federal corporate licensing, and rehabilitation for disabled veterans. He does not endorse the bonus.
