DeBrot Named City Clerk After Dober Death
Mrs. Dewana DeBrot deputy city clerk for four years is named to fill the unexpired term of the late City Clerk Billie Dober. The council approved a salary of 500 dollars monthly plus a part time aide, with duties to include additional responsibilities to reach the authorized 506 dollars. The board of education calls for a 17 million dollar state bond and school loan election for March 15 to avert housing shortfalls for about 10,000 students by 1970.

Corona redevelopment hearing halts as restraining order issued
A Riverside Superior Court restraining order halted the Corona downtown redevelopment plan as council members and agency staff were ordered to appear on December 17. Flashing red light approved at Ontario and Main corner
The city council authorized a flashing red light at the Ontario and Main corner to reduce crashes. Public Works Director Howard Gesley said nine of ten accidents involved westbound vehicles failing to stop at the stop sign, risking cross traffic and a fatality.
