St. Mary's Athletic club of Los Angeles defeated Corona 8 to 4 after a shaky third inning by Corona and five errors by LA. Guy Wallace struggled allowing nine hits before Ray Cox relieved, while Caunesti pitched for the visitors holding locals to six hits as St. Mary's rallied in the later innings to pull away before a large crowd.
A lone bandit held A J Hamilton, grocer at 715 East Sixth Street, at gunpoint and stole 60 dollars. A second incident at Hatton’s Hatton service station and Circle Boulevard saw burglars flee after the proprietor fired at them. Police scoured the area but found no suspects.

Corona youths from the Y.M.C. and Hi-Y clubs joined 2 500 Southern California boys for a Saturday in Hollywood. They viewed The Champ at a local theater, heard a morals talk, ate lunch at Hollywood High, and attended a football game. Delegation included Frank E. Bishop L. W. Sherwood and Frank B. Ware with listed Y.M.C. and Hi-Y members.

At the Corona high school assembly this afternoon, varsity letters were awarded to players including Woodward Stamford Black McCurdy Eaton Clarek Robinson Shelley Davis Sherwood Martin Wallace Atzet Dunham Thompson Garton Tucker Hammond and captain Woodward received a sweater. Class C letters went to Nichols Nugent Ware Robinson Millis Ganahl Vanderlinder A Lannon Crites Norton Lannon Smith Hamilton Johnson Hacker and Rossiter.
Funeral services in memory of Mrs H H Case were held this morning at 1101 Ramona Avenue with Rev F E White of First Baptist Church delivering the sermon. The body was taken to Los Angeles for burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Many close friends who knew her well in Corona attended. she was held in high esteem.
Riverside December 7 The fourth district appellate court will decide if a prosecutor must provide records of his investigation to a defendant and whether a shorthand transcript is needed when a defendant admits guilt at preliminary hearing. Joe Bonilla of Corona was found guilty of second degree burglary and sentenced to San Quentin. Defense argues failure to furnish transcript and improper statements gathering.
Riverside December 6. A labor camp will be set up in Beaumont for 100 homeless and jobless itinerants to receive three meals a day and four hours work daily on a twelve mile motorway in White Mountain. The scheme, run by the state forestry division, requires a voluntary four hour shift in exchange for food shelter and tobacco after a physical exam. The camp opens shortly after New Year under forestry officers with tents and buildings arranged in Beaumont and funds from unemployment relief.

The Corona chamber of commerce board of directors will meet at Kinney cafe to discuss plans for the annual primary election nominating candidates for five retiring board seats.
