The Prado roof tile plant has fired its first tile as construction nears completion. A sheet metal building houses operations with kilns oil heated and power from high tension for pug mills. Corona clays are praised for porcelain potential and the Chamber of Commerce plans to display the tile soon.
The Rev John Todd spoke at the Baptist church in Santa Ana San Salvador describing the Central American mission field under the Baptist Board of Missions. He praised the Santa Ana church as the largest Baptist church in the republic and outlined eight mission fields with twelve native workers. He noted religious liberty and progress in government, the need to raise local religious interest, and praised the church for its support of education health and press outreach.
San Jacinto operates a new hospital using a large former residence of the H. R. Wilson family now set to house 16 patients. Mrs. Pp. A. Johnson will lead the institution with Dr. P. J. Rohl and a resident physician in charge.
The first shipment of oranges from Hemet for the season departed from the Santa Fe depot on Wednesday. The fruit was sent from the Little Lake Mutual orchards packing house. The Hemet Orange Growers association packing house plans to begin operations next week.
Claude Edwards reports from Visalia that the Pacific Coast Lions International convention will be held in Riverside. Officials chose Riverside despite an unfinished new auditorium and plan a record breaking 1927 meet with help from San Bernardino Pasadena Santa Monica Corona and county clubs.

J. M. Hatcher retired as Santa Fe agent at the San Jacinto station after nearly three decades service. He now lives with his daughters in Pasadena and owns substantial property there.
Work has begun on a 12 000 gallon reservoir at the Ramona Bowl. Water will be pumped from two nearly finished wells into the reservoir. A pumping plant will lift water to a rim tank and pipe it to all parts of the amphitheatre before the next Ramona pageant.
Live Oak reports Diamond Match Company intends a $250000 development program in Butte County to build roads and facilities opening 50 miles of isolated mountain timber for mining and processing ambitions.
Probation Officer Matthews addressed the Rotary Club of Corona detailing county needs for juvenile delinquency handling. He urged better jail facilities, expanded Children’s Home policy, and cooperation with welfare plans to ease overcrowded state institutions. He cited rising juvenile cases and calls for improved county facilities across Riverside and neighboring counties.
Ed ward Dale of Safeway Stores predicted December would be the greatest business month in Southern California. He spoke to five hundred Safeway managers as bank clearings rose 15 to 20 percent, signaling robust holiday spending and a strong retail season in the region.

Copies available at the Chamber of Commerce as a Christmas souvenir in time for delivery. The book highlights Parkridge Country Club Glen Ivy and Santa Ana river views near Corona.
At Redlands meeting of the Tri Counties Dental Society Dr Miller of Redlands led a pyorrhea clinic. A Rainbow Trout Club dinner followed. Ladies Night at Parkridge Country Club set for January 5 with 1 PM bridge tea for ladies and a men’s golf tournament. A rotating cup donation from California Dental Supply House will honor low scores each month. A banquet and evening program on dentistry were planned.
The Institute of International Relations at the Mission Inn in Riverside hosts a discussion on the League of Nations with Dr. R D von Klein Smid USC president and Dr W C Leebrick of the University of Tignahico directing. A week of talks features Nerbert I Priestly and Graham Stuart with daily topics from immigration to raw materials.
American Legion volleyball team meets Knights of Pythias tonight at 7:20 in KK Le. This is a rematch after the Knights dominated the first game. Following the match the Legion post reguar meeting will be held.
Charles B. Lowe, riding master at Parkridge Stables, is back in charge of the academy after an illness and a recent accident. He greets old friends and new riders, offers a special inducement in this issue, and is noted as a well liked instructor who ensures good care for children.
Precinct 6 voters approved a 25 cent levy on assessed valuation to fund a full time city and school nurse. Election officials were Dr Wood Pierce, Russell Jones, R H Coombs, C Mabel Gilman, Susie M Barr and Elizabeth Weinlund. Only 34 ballots were cast of 600. results 250 yes, 94 no, three void.
Equipment from Syracuse shops is en route to Corona to begin installation on or before January 15. Buildings are prepared for expansion and a dairy area for powdered lemon juice production will be ready on arrival. The plant's location at Sydween Pearl and Joy streets on the Santa Fe tracks supports the lemon by product operation and Corona's growing export trade.
Evans of Riverside and other local business leaders prepare to oppose the Swing Johnson Boulder Dam bill at the Western District United States Chamber of Commerce meeting. The convention will discuss a resolution opposing the bill and defend current dam plans.
William Brown Roberds born December 24, 1845 in Mississippi died November 30, 1926 in San Jacinto California. He lived in Southern California since 1850 and moved to Corona earlier in life before settling in San Jacinto where he passed away. He married Jeanette Walkinshaw on August 4, 1872 and had six children four sons and two daughters all living. He leaves four stepchildren six grandchildren one great grandchild two sisters and many relatives. Burial was in Stoneyope Corona with Rev Charles Evans officiating. Surviving children named include A R Roberds Frank Roberds Verne Roberds Mrs KE Gibson Mrs OD Bortz Wise Roberds Mrs A W McCarty and Mrs Lew Kroenen plus PD Walkinshaw.
Pomona College joins twenty colleges to receive gifts from the Carnegie Corporation of New York. Librarian W. J. Kerr reports several large cases of the collection already received, valued around one hundred thousand dollars.
Miss Mabel Durrenberg er appointed librarian of the Hemet library and will assume duties after December 16 as the new head of the Flemet library in the town.
The Corona Scouts will gather at the Scout headquarters tonight at 7 pm to elect officers and map an activity program. The group aims to link scout efforts with civic interests and coordinate with other local organizations. Co Hancock from the High School succeeds KE F Lindenberger and leads the project with the boys. They plan a check of Saturday traffic on Corona’s main thoroughfares.
The Southern Sierras Power Company installs a new apparatus with mechanical hands to handle high voltage lines. A test pole near Wineville showed the system can operate without interrupting service during handling of 45,000 volts.
Hammond joins Graham Brothers to head the radio sales department at Grahams. George A. Graham continues as top demonstrator and seller while Dan Neuswanger remains as electrical engineer in charge of the technical department for the radio activity.
The Hemet San Jacinto Chamber of Commerce annual banquet, moved from December 8 to Tuesday evening January 11, will feature Rex B. Goodcell as the speaker.
