China to return ashes of two U S pilots from Vietnam era
Washington reports China will return the ashes of Lt Cmdr James L Buckley and PRCS Kenneth W Pugh, lost in 1967 and 1966, with administration sources noting the CIA covert flight over China that year. The Chinese also told President Ford that pilot Robert C Snoddy and co pilot Norman A Schwartz were buried at the crash site of their 1952 CIA mission in China.

Four teens kidnap girl in Mexico and return
Fourteen year old Anna Alaya was abducted by three Valencia Calif. teens aged 16 and 17 who sought a baby. They took her 180 miles into the United States, decided she was too much work, then handed her to sheriffs after a night with one girl. Pacific storm moves on as flood refugees rise
The Pacific storm shifted from flood stricken Northwest to the intermountain West and weakened. More than 2,000 refugees waited for floodwaters to subside, including Indians driven from their reservation. Waters still rose in parts of the Chehalis River in Grays Harbor County while cooler weather offered hope. Refugees were evacuated by helicopters or boats to halls and motels.
