A search plane spotted what is believed to be the wreckage of a C-60 Army cargo aircraft with nine aboard. Major Jay Montgomery, commanding Kern county air base, reported no signs of life. The plane was en route from Rio Hondo Texas to Hammer Field Fresno.
Corona police announced a large yellow and white pointer tested positive for rabies after escaping its pen Saturday. The dog fought other animals in several city areas before being shot Sunday. its head was sent to Riverside for testing. Owners are urged to secure pets and monitor for rabies symptoms.

Bonds stamped Pearl Harbor Day 1944 will serve as keepsakes while students aim to surpass prior records, with total investments reaching 6402.25 dollars and a plan for a Water Buffalo plaque upon reaching 80000 dollars in stamps and bonds.
