A blaze at Hydro Conduit Corp in El Cerrito destroyed a nearly completed 100 by 180 by 30 foot curing kiln used for concrete pipe. Fire started about 8 45 a m when a welding torch ignited sealant, despite eight firefighting units from California Forestry and the U S Forest Service. The fire was contained within about thirty minutes.
