Hmary D. Martindale, Glendale attorney, filed his candidacy for governor on the Republican ticket. The report notes several other regional items including a Royal Air Force contingent passing through San Francisco en route to Canada for training.

A Japanese radio quoted Shanghai sources saying the United States leased three islands in the Indian Ocean from Great Britain. The three islands were not named. The Japanese Broadcasting Co called the move another example of the greedy hands of the United States in the Pacific.

Charlies O. Barratt suffered minor injuries after colliding with a slowly moving car driven by Santos Ramirez at West Sixth street and Grand boulevard.
