Corona officials plan city clerk collaboration with gas light and water companies to correct the failing house numbering system. Building Inspector Kershner says new homes lack accurate numbers and an official source. Meanwhile carriers struggle to locate 850 East Sixth Street within the 800 block.
Corona welcomed a Gum sampler from Jooming ton Illinois visiting on Friday. The traveling representative for American Chicle toured 12 western states handing out gum samples. A trio of girls cover the territory three times yearly in red uniforms.
County tax collector Warnéea C. R. Stibbens urged residents that December 5 is the deadline to pay first installments without penalty. He reported about $650,000 already received and expected around $750,000 on hand when his office closes Monday at 5 p.m. After that, payments incur an extra 5 percent penalty.
