Riverside County will not move to try Northcott locally until after he faces the charge in Los Angeles County for murdering an unidentified Mexican youth. Northcott, charged with four murders, is held in the county jail with Hickman, as officials debate arraignment procedures amid cross county jurisdiction questions.
The first school typing contest of the year at Corona High School saw 24 participants. Pearl Lewis achieved 38 words per minute with three errors and Margaret Welch 48 words per minute with four errors, the top scorers.
In Chino on December 1 Chief Henry stopped a truck hauling twenty five empty barrels twenty sacks of corn sugar and ten ten gallon glass jugs.
