A social gathering at Miss Laura Kirby’s home honored William Fisher before his departure from Corona to Los Angeles for Navy enlistment and San Francisco training. Friends enjoyed games, refreshments, and well wishes. attendees included Laura Kirby, Marjorie Gleason, Juanita Brunson, Yoma Tower, Glaydis White, Lois Fegan, Nellie Fisher, Dauphine Page, Hattie Slaten, Laura Clipper, Clyde Lillibridge, B. Tucker, Jas Kirby, Wayne Hutchinson, Albert Fisher, Willis Archer, Wheeler Ellis, Teller Ellis, Willard Van Dyke, John Fegan. Mary Lee Dickerson was absent due to illness.
Students return to classes Monday following a three day vacation. The W C T U plans a meeting at 2 30 in the Congregational church with Mrs Edmiston and Mrs Haag presenting talks on literature and the Prohibition map. Frank Scoville has returned from visits in Chicago Rochester and is staying in Los Angeles with his son Harry F Scoville and family.
