Soviet forces retreat in disorder along the Vistula to Bug front as Polish troops advance. Reports say over 10,000 prisoners, 30 cannons, 300 machine guns, and thousands of supply cars captured. Poles seize three towns and strike with tanks aircraft and armored trains near Novo Minsk and Serock.
Negotiations completed yesterday let Mrs Hugh Whitcomb turn over management to Mr and Mrs G W Prentice. The Prentices take over next Monday with Mrs Whitcomb staying a week to aid the transition. Mrs Prentice ran a boarding house for Corona Lemon and knows food buying and cooking. Mrs Whitcomb will move to Pasadena where Mr Whitcomb is employed.
Washington sugar dealers with large stocks appeal to the Department of Justice to curb losses from a price drop. John F. Crosby notes many are barred from selling sugar at more than one cent per pound profit and blame high buying prices. relief is limited unless refiners breach the Lever Act.
