Joint Legion and Auxiliary Install Officers in Unusual Coincidence

The ceremony at Memorial hall united W. H. Jameson Jr. post 216 with the auxiliary and junior auxiliary. Ronald J. Clark and his daughter Amy Leah became commander and junior auxiliary president respectively, with Mrs. Clark as senior auxiliary vice president. In the Day Jewell family Shirley Jewell also gained a significant post as immediate past president of the group. The event featured numerous officers across the post and auxiliaries, including Mrs. Szabo as senior auxiliary president and many other appointed roles. Refreshments followed as plans moved toward the August meeting while noting the state convention in San Diego.

Church Classes Plan Picnic With Mothers

Mrs. Mary Tucker returned from a week visiting her sister Mrs. Ida Franet of Julian and former Cofénan. She traveled with Mr. and Mrs. Toval Slaten and many friends, stopping for fishing in Henshaw and visiting Oceanside for an Odd Fellows picnic.

Mr and Mrs C B Young and son Ward Westberg were honored at a surprise housewarming Monday night at 575 East Sixth Street. Friends provided entertainment with home movies and games and guests brought ice cream cake refreshments and gifts for the home.
