Thousands of veterans from World War I and earlier conflicts converge at Huntington Beach Arbarnar for the 33rd annual Southern California Veterans Association encampment. The multi day outdoor event runs through August 12 with programs daily including POW reunions, G.A.R. entertainments, memorials, and a dress parade led by auxiliary groups and veterans' organizations.

Preparations are underway on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona for the annual snake dance, a religious rite. The festival runs from the 15th to the 25th with members of Blue and Crab Flute and Antelope and Snake organizations taking part. New Speed Record Set At Columbus for 100 Miles
Gaston Chevrolet established a new world record for 100 miles on a dirt track in Columbus Ohio on Sunday with a nonstop time of six minutes and 23 seconds. The previous mark of six minutes and 45 seconds was set by Tom AHey at Minneapolis in 1914.

Two Arrests For Speeding In Riverside Area
Two men Sears of Colton and Archie Munro of Riverside were arrested Sunday for speeding by Chief Redans. They will appear before City Recorder Miller on Tuesday evening for trial.
