Federal Judge Neterer ordered the removal of Christian Tjosevig and George Rowe to New York to face indictments on using the mails to defraud in an Alaska mining scheme. Tjosevig owns the Tjosevig Kennect copper properties at McCarthy Alaska.
Thirty undesirable aliens will be shipped to the Atlantic coast for deportation, announced today in San Francisco. The move targets noncitizens considered a menace to the city and national security.
A heavy wind and snow storm hit Alberta and Saskatchewan, crippling lines and spreading toward Winnipeg. Strong winds and blowing snow disrupted transportation and communications as officials monitor the advancing system.

Mayor Hugh M. Caldwell begins term by removing Thomas Murphine as superintendent of public utilities and naming E. I. O'Brien to assume the office. Murphine resigned, accepted by retiring Mayor Fitzgerald. Caldwell plans municipal car system reorganization.
The interior department sets a maximum royalty of 33 1 3 percent for wells producing more than 200 barrels daily of oil at 30 degrees Baume or higher. Royalties step down with production, down to 12 percent minimum, while wells under 20 BPD incur a 25 percent royalty for oil below 30 degrees Baume.
Dr Kenneth MacKenzie dean of the University of Oregon Medical School and noted surgeon died in Portland. He gained national prominence for his work in nerve grafting and served as a leading figure in medical science.
The senate committee on foreign relations unanimously approved the appointment of Mr Crane as minister to China.
The old Bayview brewery, recently used as a sawmill, was destroyed by fire last night. The loss is estimated at $30,000.

A Washington dispatch reports Hallowell, Alaska specialist for the Interior Department, has resigned to work with Herbert Hoover on Armenian relief. A. T. Vogelsang, first assistant secretary, will replace him, likely reducing the department’s focus on Alaska.
The House approved a bill authorizing the United States Grain Corporation to sell five million barrels of flour to Poland Austria and Armenia on long credit terms.
The informal labor jury in Montesano unanimously acquits the Centralia defendants. The panel says the trial was not fair and asserts the wobblies had a right to defend their hall. Also notes troops were called and Grimm participated in the raid on the hall.
Washington March 16 It has been 30 days since Robert Lansing resigned as secretary of state and Assistant Secretary Polk is barred from acting, causing a de facto embargo on Americans traveling abroad as no official can sign passports. John Barton Payne retired from the Shipping Board chair and was sworn in as secretary of the interior. Admiral Benson succeeds Payne on the Shipping Board and is expected to be elected chairman.
Mrs. Lillian H. Kerr national organizer of the Woman's party is in Washington to watch the legislature ratify the woman suffrage amendment next week. Washington would be the thirty-fifth state to ratify. thirty-six are needed. Officials expect an easy approval with little trouble.
Texas Governor Hobby orders a military force to the border to protect oil lands amid the Texas Oklahoma dispute. The commander is directed to surrender the land only to a decree of the United States Supreme Court.
President Shortt of the State Federation of Labor condemned the Kansas industrial court law and deprecated the Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen during a speech at the International Timber Workers convention in Spokane.
Seattle defeated Vancouver 6 to 0 to clinch the coast championship on points. The victory advances Seattle to meet Ottawa for the world championship in Vancouver, British Columbia, March 15.
General Wood leads in Minnesota Republican presidential primaries with 12 627 votes to 8 517 for Johnson 4 486 for Hoover and 3 510 for Lowden. Wood claims to have carried every county and to control the state convention. Campagin support note includes Pershing’s name appearing in another filed item.
The Navy Department received bids for fuel oil covering under one fifth of the five million barrels requested. Prices are more than 100 percent above those in present contracts. Secretary Daniels said he would insist on an adequate supply at reasonable prices for warships.
Associated Press reports joint maneuvers of the Atlantic and Pacific fleets will occur in Panama Bay in January. The Pacific fleet will cruise to several Pacific ports next summer.
The Montana Development Association plans nonpartisan political activity aimed at constructive statesmanship. President W A Selvidge issued the statement detailing that the organization, largely composed of Montana merchants, will engage in political efforts without endorsing a party.
