The Swedish government protests that Britain opened and censored several mails from the United States to Sweden and one registered unit is missing. The cabinet will formulate a protest and forward it to Britain amid strong American sympathy.
Kansas City reports the heaviest rains of the year across Kansas northern Oklahoma Missouri and eastern Nebraska with widespread flood damage. Bridges washed out miles of tracks ruined train service and numerous tornadoes damage orchards and homes. At least 13 people killed and many injured as the storm intensifies threatening further losses.
Atlanta reports intense interest as Governor Slaton weighs Leo Frank's clemency appeal. The governor has focused on the petition and is expected to announce a decision on Monday, with execution set for next Tuesday, leaving only the governor's ruling to resolve the case.
Anchorage townsite surveys near completion with 240 acres slated for town lots and about 1 200 parcels. Officials led by Lieut Mears and Andrew Christensen push quick opening, possible July sale by auction or other method, with leasing unlikely due to federal provisions.

Miss Jeneva Dorothy Laska of Cordova died at her First Street home about 7:80 last night after a long illness with tuberculosis begun in November. Born in Portland Oregon she was 15 and popular among schoolmates. The body will be sent out of town for interment. Nearby news notes George Osborne formerly of Cordova now in Juneau plans to Anchorage with his brother Ben possibly closing the Cordova store. The Cook Inlet Pioneer recalls Keith McCullough watching for forest fires, though the editor claimed he searched for the Admiral Watson. George Burleigh of the Horseshoe force rode on the Mari posa today to Anchorage.
Washington June 18 Cabinet met with the Mexican crisis as the main topic. The U S gave Mexico until June 22 to meet the president's demands and discussed enforcement options if needed. The session briefly touched on charges against Great Britain over espionage on official mails between the U S and neutral nations. Gus Boone left for Anchorage to continue work with Captain Lathrop in the transfer business.

The steamer Mariposa reached Cordova at dawn with passengers bound for Cordova and Valdez Seward and Anchorage, plus 14 round trip travelers taking a glacier excursion. It sails west at 12 20 this afternoon and will return Wednesday morning. R J Ringwood visits Cordova to inspect business in Alaska aboard the Evans.
The New York Court of Appeals upholds Supreme Court Justice Hendricks’s ruling granting Harry Thaw a jury trial on sanity. The state’s appeal failed and Thaw is slated for jury determination of his sanity, a decision amid public interest. The report notes altered sailing times for Admiral Line boats and references Matteawan asylum.
