An Associated Press dispatch from Prince Rupert B C says the fishing vessel Teton is reported aground off the west side of Queen Charlotte Island near Frederick Island. Forts report the vessel to be safe despite the danger in the area.

An explosion in the coal bunkers of the steamship Victoria at Pier 2 Seattle killed stevedore D. E. Prince and station man William Lawrence and injured Earl W. Raymond port engineer George Mathewson carpenter fore man and Andrew Hansen. The ship had arrived from Comox with coal for Southwestern Alaska and was to sail to Seward. Company officers credit spontaneous combustion in about a thousand tons of coal.
