Fuel Administrator Garfield resigns to President Wilson over settlement principles. He opposes a three party commission for price setting and says government interference led operators and public to miners. Other reports note rising output, store hours, and regional demands for wage increases and shorter work weeks.
Washington December 12 Representative Johnson introduces a bill to extend the exclusion feature of the immigration act to aliens affiliated with organizations that write print or distribute material advocating overthrow of the government by violence. He says it would reach alien members of the wobblies and requires no overt act.
The North Dakota House passed a senate concurrent resolution demanding the resignation of Attorney General Langer. He is accused of betraying farmers by attempting to wreck the Scandinavian American Bank and of calling the governor and supreme court judges rooks and conspirators in a published interview.
Bern announces Giuseppe Notta elected president of the Swiss Federation with Gustav Arbur Hochmond Schultheiss as vice president. The one year term begins immediately. In Fiume D Annunzio reiterates resolve to hold the city until his aims are completed.
